Wax Injection

Open rubber mold with a wax model

Wax injection for jewellery in Tunisia: faithful models, ready for casting

Wax injection is carried out using a specialised machine that injects molten wax under pressure into the mold cavity.

Once cooled, this process produces a wax model that precisely replicates the details of the original design.

This step follows mold making: the rubber or silicone mold, kept at the workshop, lets us produce as many wax copies as needed, from a sculpted model or a 3D-printed one.

The quality of the wax piece depends on the settings: wax temperature and injection pressure are adapted to the fineness of the model, so that every detail is filled without flash. The wax cools completely before it is taken out of the mold, then each copy is inspected for incomplete filling before being assembled on a tree for casting.

Once the wax has been checked, it moves on to the next stage: die casting, which turns the model into a finished piece in precious metal.
