Polishing
Jewellery polishers use a wide range of machines and hand tools to give each piece a brilliant finish.
Using wheels and bits coated with polishing paste, they shape and refine surfaces to achieve a radiant shine. With their expertise and years of experience, jewellers apply techniques that enhance the natural beauty of precious metals.
Polishing provides a clean, smooth, and luminous finish to every piece of jewellery.
Polishing is done in several passes: a more abrasive paste first removes the marks left by finishing, then a finer paste brings out the shine. Each paste is paired with a wheel or bit suited to the shape of the piece.
Hard-to-reach areas, such as the inside of a ring or the details of a motif, are reworked by hand with small tools so the edges stay sharp. Polishing also prepares stone setting and rhodium plating: a perfectly smooth surface gives a cleaner result.
